About

Lee Johnston needed an outlet to work on her writing and explore the connections between the ideas that pop into her head, so she started Threads. Her interests include systems thinking, public health, experiences related to parenting children with hearing differences, queer and popular culture, and sports. She’s curious about developing strategies for dealing with the complexity of everyday life.

Lee has experimented with academia and has been published in the American Journal of Public Health, Annual Reviews of Public Health and Health Research Policy and Systems. She currently works and volunteers on projects related to health policy, organizational development, and fostering dialogue around complex public health challenges. She lives with her partner, daughter and their dog on the unceded territory of the Qayqayt First Nation in British Columbia, Canada.
